Let's take a closer look at the new 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning.

The Perfect Ride For...

The new 2022 Ford F-150 is the perfect ride for the environmentally-conscious driver who needs the versatility of a truck. Until now, drivers who needed the functionality and power of a truck were forced to decide between performance vs efficiency. However, the new 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning comes with a standard driving range battery that can travel up to 230 miles. Drivers will have the opportunity to upgrade to the extended battery that can travel up to 300 miles on a charge. Thanks to the strategic positioning of the Lightning's advanced lithium-ion battery pack between the frame rails, it doesn't take away any bed space or interior space. And the battery doesn't only charge the truck, it can be used to power your home thanks to Ford's Available Intelligent Backup Power and 80-amp Ford Charge Station Pro.

Simply put, the Ford F-150 Lightning is an electric pickup truck engineered to do everything you need it to do, most of the stuff you want, and several things you've never imagined. It will even enhance the way you work and play with the unwavering strength and capability to get the job done in the most efficient manner possible. The F-150 Lightning boasts an impressive 10,000 maximum towing capability with a targeted 2,000 lb max payload capability.

Drive and Handling

The new Ford F-150 Lightning is powered by two brilliant inboard motors that deliver nearly instant torque to all four wheels on the standard 4x4 system. When equipped with an extended-range battery, the new Ford F-150 Lightning has a blistering target production of 563 HP and 775 lb-ft of torque. Powered by the all-electric motor, the new Ford F-150 Lightning will be able to accelerate quicker than any F-150 to date. How fast? The Lightning is projected to blister the 0-60 in the mid-four-second range.

The independent rear suspension system helps reduce body roll and isolate road imperfections for precise handling and smooth ride. The F-150's aluminum-alloy control arms help reduce unsprung mass. Depending on your driving conditions, the selectable drive modes will help you maintain control over different road conditions and terrains. You can toggle between Sport, Normal, Tow/Haul, or Off-Road. In addition, every drive mode will customize the 12-inch digital productivity screen to deliver a personalized experience. And if you go off-road, the F-150 Lightning offers underbody protection, skid plates, and a unique structure for the lithium battery that acts as a shield.
